CIW230 Writing Poetry

Poetry is a key genre for the development of a voice for Indigenous writers in the contemporary literary landscape. In this unit, students will engage in critical analysis and application of a variety of poetic styles, both Indigenous and other, and develop an advanced understanding of poetic language. They will investigate and critically evaluate the history and development of poetry, and they will practice writing in different forms of poetic expression to further develop their own voice and style for publication.
