This unit provides students with the opportunity to apply principles and theories of child development to planning for effective teaching and learning in early years settings. This unit requires students to build on and enhance theory and practice in professional experience.
Students completing the one-year Bachelor of Teaching and Learning Inservice (Early Childhood) undertake 30 days of professional experience as part of this unit. Students completing the two-year Bachelor Early Childhood Learning undertake 30 days of professional experience as part of this unit. Students completing the four-year Bachelor of Teaching and Learning Early Childhood undertake 10 days of professional experience as part of this unit.
All students enrolled in this unit must provide an ochre card (NT), or other relevant state or territory card/police check for working with children to the CDU Professional Experience Office and to the placement centre or school prior to the commencement of the professional experience.
