This unit will explore all aspects of renal transplantation. The legal and ethical considerations will be discussed in depth as will cultural differences associated with transplantation. The physical preparation before, during and after transplant will be examined and lastly the psychological implications for donors and recipients will be highlighted. This unit will also discuss the `fourth' option for those with ESCKD, that of conservative treatment and palliation.
