PRT541 Information Systems Management

This unit is designed to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to apply Information Technology to support the major functions and activities of both private and public sectors organisations. Students will learn how to manage the organisation's information resources by supporting the process of collection, manipulation, storage, distributions, and organisation of these resources.

The unit will provide students with a comprehensive and integrative coverage of essential new technologies and information system applications, as well their impact on business models and managerial decision-making. Students will be exposed to essential information about information systems used by today's businesses.

In addition, students will learn how to develop skills sought after in today's workplace as well as be able to understand, participate in, and eventually lead management discussions and drive decisions about their firm's information systems.

This unit is reliant on on-line materials. Students must have reliable access to a high-speed broadband internet connection for multimedia materials.
