Depending on your units of study, you will have a range of different study resources including textbooks and online study materials that may be available through CDU's Learning Management System, Learnline and the Charles Darwin University Library.

Not all subjects have textbooks, but for those that do, we have them listed by unit code on our menu here

CDU Bookshop sells books in in print and some textbooks are available as eBooks for purchase or rent on our eBook platform provided by Vitalsource

The latest edition is usually the most widely available. Sometimes unit outlines reference previous editions. Please check with your lecturer when Learnline becomes available if you are unsure about old and new edition usage.

An ISBN is an International Standard Book Number. ISBNs were 10 digits in length up to the end of December 2006, but since 1 January 2007 they now always consist of 13 digits. ISBNs are calculated using a specific mathematical formula and include a check digit to validate the number. Think of an ISBN as a books unique fingerprint and this is the best way to search for a book online. 

Log into CDU the Bookshop with your CDU Student or staff email address, via the log in tab at the top of the home page. If you are a new customer, you will need to create an account. Type the unit code in the magnifying glass icon on the top right hand side of the page or choose the textbook menu.

Select the unit code you are enrolled in.The selected unit page will display any prescribed or recommended textbooks for that unit, you are then able to select those books you require and add them to your cart.

To search for eBooks, you will need to visit our Vitalsource platform on the textbook menu. 

Using our new online store is simply a matter of searching for the book you are after using the search box, browsing by subject area or using our A-Z Unit listing. From there you can select the products you would like to purchase by adding them to your cart. Then you can checkout or choose to continue shopping.

You do not have to be a student at Charles Darwin University to use our online store, all customers are more than welcome to use our service. If you are interested in a book we don't have in stock please give us a call on (08) 8946 6497 and we will help you wherever possible.

Absolutely - To save time you can choose the 'Pick up in store' option when going through the checkout process. Our 'Click & Collect' service will ensure your books are ready and waiting for you so you don't miss out on getting your textbooks especially in peak periods.

Yes, delivery of orders outside Australia is by Australia Post's Regular Air Parcels Service or by Express International Courier Service. For details on cost check our page on Postage and Freight Information. Purchasing of eBooks on our Vitalsource platform is restricted to Australian IP addresses only. 

We accept Mastercard & Visa card payments online only, as well as Paypal. We use eWAY’s RAPID Transparent Direct API payment solution, so we don’t touch our customers’ credit card data: it’s processed directly from your browser to eWAY’s secure payment gateway. eWAY is certified as meeting Tier 1 of the PCI DSS compliance criteria, which is the highest level of compliance available and has the same levels of data security of the biggest banks in the world.

Registering for a customer account is optional and can be done by going to the person symbol link at the top of the page. Creating a customer account gives you access to your order history, order status and will save you time when ordering from our system. CDU Bookshop is not linked to the Charles Darwin University IT environment. 

To sign in to your account at any time simply go to the person symbol link at the top of the page and enter your log in details.

If you need to reset your password simply go to the person symbol link at the top to go to the Customer Login screen from there you can use the link to reset your password. Please make sure your email address details are correct and expect you password or account activation emails may go to your junk mail folder. 

CDU Student Rewards is a program that rewards you simply for buying the things you need. Once you sign up, every dollar you spend earns you 1 point. Once you earn 200 points, you will be able to claim $20 discount code to use against your next order. Or, save up for 400 points and claim $40 discount code and lastly, 600 points to claim $60 discount code, 1000 points to claim $100 discount code.

To claim your rewards, you need to hit the Check rewards tab on the bottom of the home page and sign into your account. Please remember to copy and paste your code that you have claimed into the discount code section of the checkout once you have added your purchases.

Regrettably, our checkout cannot accept two codes at once. Please apply your CDU Rewards code and email bookshop@cdu.edu.au for refund of postage charges incurred during the SSAF offer period.

Textbooks and study resources in Australia are not included in university fees, nor able to be paid using FEE-HELP. This is due to restrictions by the Higher Education Support Act 2013.

Payment for textbooks and resources from CDU Bookshop must be upfront as university bookshops owned and run by universitites are not eligible to conduct Afterpay, Zippay or paylater services due to restrictions excluding government entities of which CDU Bookshop is a part. 

CDU Bookshop can use your SSAF fees to cover the cost of postage of resources by using the code SSAF at the discount code section of the checkout and we discount where possible by 5% online and offer CDU Rewards loyalty program which is equivalent to an additional 10% discount on all purchases.
