BIS134 System Analysis and Design

This unit introduces the students to the fundamentals of Systems Analysis and Design (SAD), traditional Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) as well as more recent approaches, such as the Object-Oriented approach to systems development and the agile approach. The unit stresses the importance of the Problem Definition phases (Planning/Requirements gathering) and demonstrates how integral this phase is for the rest of the phases of the development process/method. A variety of modelling techniques such as Data-Flow Diagrams, Entity-Relationship Diagrams, Flowcharts, and Use Cases will also be covered.
