This unit is for students who have completed CAL210 and CAL211 and who want to concentrate on developing their skills in speaking, reading, writing, listening, documenting, transcribing, translating and analysing narratives and texts in a Central Australian language. Team-taught by a native speaker and a linguist, students will be provided with the opportunity to revise and expand on the material developed in the two previous units and add to their own dictionaries, phrase-books and sets of grammatical notes. Where practical, student will undertake a field trip to a community of speakers of the target language, or engage in a comparable language-immersion situation.
