This unit explores the contemporary context of Indigenous people's engagement in the management natural and cultural resources on Australian land and sea estates. A critical appraisal of the extent to which government policy and practice facilitates the engagement of Indigenous Australians in land and sea management provides a base-line for the exploration of the possibilities of engagement that foster and strengthen cultural integrity and provide opportunity for equitable participation in and shaping of regional and local economies and enterprise. This is a repeatable unit that alternately focuses upon engagement in different environmental contexts, including land, sea and freshwater regimes.
