The unit integrates theory and practice to develop holistic evidence based training programming for sports and exercise. The holistic emphasis will be an outcome of integrating the disciplines of talent identification, exercise physiology, biomechanics, motor skill learning, sport psychology, sports nutrition and sports injuries to develop a training and competition coaching manual relevant to a to a specific sport. The focus will be on performance enhancement in sport and human movement and embedded within athlete developmental considerations. In term of the wider context of the course it will enable students demonstrate developmental, training and competition theory and practice producing optimal sport and exercise outcomes with athletes.
