In this unit students will develop the knowledge and skills to understand the complexities of student learning in senior secondary science teaching.
The unit combines contemporary science educational theory with the content and philosophy of State/Territory Senior Science Curricula, including the current Australian Senior Science Secondary Curriculum (draft) in areas of Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Earth & Environmental science.
Students will demonstrate student-centred and inquiry-based approaches to science learning through the design of contextually engaging learning sequences, including risk assessment, experimental investigations, formative and summative assessment, and the use of ICT technologies to engage students in science classrooms.
