ECM219 Teaching the Curriculum: Indigenous Knowledge Systems 2

Indigenous Pedagogies are fundamental to the contemporary Australian curriculum frameworks. Indigenous pedagogies encompass a variety of Indigenous ways of knowing, being and doing. In this unit students will learn about Indigenous philosophies which can be applied to a range of teaching and learning contexts. Students will deconstruct the notion of `pedagogy' to reconstruct your emerging philosophy of teaching. Students will learn a new approach to learning and teaching which privileges Indigenous pedagogy and knowledges while working inside the Australian Education frameworks.
