This unit is the second teaching the curriculum science unit in Secondary education. The unit develops pre-service teachers' in-depth pedagogical knowledge and skills to evaluate the complexities of student learning in the disciplines of Senior Secondary Science, including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth and Environmental Science. Pre-service teachers will review the contemporary science educational theories and literature to think critically and challenge their own and peers' existing understandings of the concepts and processes of teaching and learning of science using the Australian Curriculum in Science throughout this unit.
