ENG154 Engineering Foundations

This unit provides introductory tools and techniques for the practical aspects of engineering. The content includes hand sketching and drawing, computer aided drafting, numerical tools for engineering calculations, basic computer programming and practical workshop techniques.

Students studying in external mode must attend residential activity at the Casuarina Campus during the mid-semester break. More information about residentials can be found at http://www.cdu.edu.au/engit/residentials.html

Students may apply to the unit coordinator for exemption of the practical workshop component of this unit based on recent experience. If granted, external students will not be required to attend the residential activity of this unit.

This unit is reliant on on-line materials. Students must have access to a reliable high-speed broadband connection and a scanner.
