Students will undertake a 100 hour supervised play therapy internship, engage in practicum training, and participate in case presentations/discussion facilitated by staff. The play therapy practicum is developed in collaboration with the student, the placement coordinator, and the practitioner supervising the placement. Contracts will be drawn up which will clearly specify the play therapy skills to be developed and the responsibilities of the student, the placement supervisor and the placement coordinator. Students will need to obtain a current police check and Ochre Card. It is expected that in all placements, students will gain experience translating theory into practice, and advancing the students play therapy skills.
This unit is repeatable with 100 hours of supervised play therapy practice completed in the first enrolment, and 100 hours completed in the repeated enrolment.
