In this unit, students will identify a research gap within the discipline of nursing or midwifery through a comprehensive literature review, formulate a structured research question, and identify appropriate systematic review methodology and methods to answer the research question. Upon completion of this unit, students will be required to complete a comprehensive literature review and develop and present a research proposal for the systematic review project. This unit is the first in a sequence of three systematic review project units in which students undertaking the Bachelor of Nursing Honours or Bachelor of Midwifery Honours must enrol to complete their Honours research project. The Honours research project consists of 60 credit points, with each of the three units accounting for 20 credit points. Students will be allocated an academic supervisor from the College of Nursing and Midwifery to work collaboratively on a systematic review project following the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) Method for Systematic Review Research.
