HSC202 Social Media And Marketing In Health Promotion

The unit aims to equip students with an understanding of contemporary health education that will support them to plan and implement a range of health education actions promoting good health and preventing illness. Within the unit there will be analysis of the challenges and key success factors related to use of social media as a communication tool in diverse population groups. There will also be consideration of different understandings of health and how these may impact on social media and marketing in health education as an integral component of health promotion. The theory and concepts presented in this unit support the development of health promotion competencies in general and the relationship of social media and marketing health promotion activities with effective professional practice specifically.
