This unit provides a comprehensive understanding of the ways in which employment policies are implemented in the workplace to recruit, support and develop Indigenous staff. Students will analyse and critique the ways in which policies formulated to facilitate Indigenous employment are implemented and examine best practice models for approaching Indigenous staff attraction, recruitment, development and retention. The overarching principles of equal employment opportunity, anti-discrimination and special measures will be addressed to examine the ways in which they shape the specific nature of strategies to promote Indigenous employment.
