LGA200 Linguistics for Indigenous Languages 2

In this unit students who have completed LGA100 will advance their understanding of the way meaning is expressed through language, by studying grammar holistically, observing that sentences are made up of morphemes, words and phrases, and that there are relationships between these elements. Students will learn how to analyse the semantic and grammatical structure of sentences, which will expand their understanding of the relationship between form and meaning in language. Applying the theory in practice, students will analyse examples from a range of languages, and in particular Indigenous Australian languages.
