LWA215 Advanced Criminal Law

This unit covers, to an advanced level, substantive aspects of criminal law as developed in LWZ114 Criminal Law. It provides the student with theoretical as well as practical skills applicable to offences in both the Magistrates and District courts. The unit includes criminal responsibility (extended to include preparatory offences and parties); unlawful killing (other than murder and manslaughter); sexual offences (other than sexual assault and maintaining sexual relationship with child); contemporary issues in the law - domestic violence; public order offences (affray and riot); legislation effecting victims and proceeds of crime; and sentencing (practical skills).
