MUS215 Theory of Music 4

This advanced level music theory unit consolidates and extends students' knowledge and skills gained from previous music theory units. Students will learn to apply music theory techniques including writing harmonic and melodic minor, blues, pentatonic and whole tone scale patterns, writing cadences and chords in 4 part vocal style. Other topics covered in the unit include compound intervals, tonalities of triads, melody and modulation, verse setting, longer harmony including sequences, suspensions and unessential notes.
