MUS299 Technical Production

The unit explores the fundamental principles and practices that underpin the discipline of contemporary music production. With a focus on basic music theory and ear training relating to electronic music production; sound theory; providing an understanding of analogue and digital recording, it will explore the history behind music synthesis ; digital workstations such as Pro Tools and software programs including Reason. The aims of the unit are to introduce students to essential skills necessary to work effectively with music technology including its application and practice in the music industry and how to incorporate them into their activities as musicians.
