NUR365 Professional Nursing 2

NUR365 Professional Nursing 2 builds on knowledge gained in previous units and extends the students understanding of the legal, ethical and professional roles and responsibilities of the registered nurse in primary, secondary and tertiary settings in Australia. Students enrol in this unit with a firm understanding of primary health care across the lifespan, evidence-based practice and the issues related to working with people from linguistically and culturally diverse groups including Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people resident in remote and rural regions. The challenges students may face when they make the transition from student to registered nurse are explored. Students are encouraged to explore future directions in their professional development and to demonstrate a critical understanding of the legal, ethical and professional standards that guide their practice in any setting.
