The unit covers the issues and concepts associated with professional pharmacy activities and clinical pharmacy practice. Topics include: health promotion, appropriate prescribing, home medication reviews, nursing home reviews, non-prescription products, and legal/ethical aspects of pharmacy practice. The practical component covers prescription dispensing and patient counselling. Students will develop skills in measuring blood pressure and will be able to effectively demonstrate how to use various respiratory devices.
