This unit is the first of two units, available by invitation only, for those who meet the entry criteria for the Bachelor of Pharmacy Honours program. This unit provides the foundations and groundwork for, and leads through to PHA415, the culmination of which is the production of a dissertation based upon an independent research project. Throughout the semester it is expected that students participate in research methods lectures and the weekly research tutorials. In Pharmacy Honours 1, candidates undertake, with guidance and support, a critical review of the literature around a chosen topic of interest, write a research proposal and gain the project ethics approval. This can be in the area of pharmacotherapeutics, pharmaceutical science or pharmacy practice. Students will deliver an assessed proposal oral presentation at the end of the semester. This unit is not available as online enrolment. Student should submit a change of enrolment form to Student Central for approval by the Unit Coordinator.
