PHM528 Community Development and Public Health

In this unit students are introduced to the range of approaches to community development and public health including the different schools of thought and major debates. Key concepts and community development and public health challenges are examined, along with various strategic alternatives and practice techniques. A feature of the unit is attention to the interpersonal or `micro-practice' dimensions of community development combined with an understanding of public health. Account is taken of emerging policy contexts.

This unit is predominately delivered on-line, students are required to attend the 2.5 day intensive on campus during the semester.
