This unit examines the dynamics of different countries, issues, or events in Asian politics. Specific unit topics change from year to year, but topics will usually investigate the political history, culture, systems, and institutions of particular countries. Students investigate the background, causes, and consequences of particular issues or events. The unit applies an interdisciplinary approach using case studies and comparative examples to provide an in-depth analysis of different contemporary issues in Asia. Students will consolidate advanced research and writing skills through independent research essays and comparative case studies.
