This unit builds an understanding of the role of the teaching academic through the identification of a range of theoretical foundations that inform university teaching and learning. Students will identify current international and national trends and issues relevant to their own teaching practice.
As critically reflective practitioners students will be asked to identify opportunities to improve their own skills and knowledge and further develop their teaching philosophy and practices. In this process students will engage with others, such as a critical friend. Collaboratively students will develop strategies to bridge identified gaps and implement these in their own teaching context.
This unit is not available for online enrolment and is only available to CDU staff enrolled in the Graduate Certificate of University Teaching and Learning (GCUTL).
