In this unit students explore contemporary theory and practice in the identification, selection and application of appropriate pedagogy within diverse and complex learning environments particularly focused on the use of appropriate technology.
The unit identifies approaches and skills for teaching and learning in online, blended and face-to-face learning contexts. In addition to engaging in theoretical positions and literature related to these issues, students will develop practical skills in using online learning environments (as a teacher and student) and will engage in using CDU's Learning Management System (Blackboard/Learnline) and associated tools and resources.
Students are required to engage in reflective practice of a teaching activity utilising learning technology/s and to personally reflect on this experience with the help of a critical friend.
This unit is not available for online enrolment and is only available to CDU staff enrolled in the Graduate Certificate of University Teaching and Learning (GCUTL).
