VIS250 Painting and Textile Arts

The visual language of both painting and textile art (including Screenprinting) will be introduced to students through a series of exercises, projects and studio critiques. The projects in this unit encourage students to form innovative visual responses through creative thinking and experimentation. Students will develop conceptual and technical skills in painting and textile art alongside an understanding of historical and contemporary painting practices. Drawing inspiration from local, national and international artists, students will be expected to frame their work within a broader conceptual and artistic context. Students will be required to access Adobe Photoshop throughout the semester.
