It includes tales of the overlanders who cycled through the Territory seeking fame as the first or the fastest.  It discusses the many club that have supported organised cycling over the years, the different businesses that sold and repaired bicycles, the average cyclists who used their machines as adjuncts to their daily lives in the Territory's towns and regional centres, and the extraordinary cyclists who pushed themselves and their machines to the limits to access some of the most remote places in the Territory.  This is a unique part of Northern Territory history. Several books have been written about the history of cycling in Australia, but none have gone into this level of detail for a single jurisdiction. The book includes over eighty images, many published for the first time and several never previously identified.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"NT HISTORICAL SOCIETY","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":52712283832594,"sku":"9780646742038","price":39.99,"currency_code":"AUD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0702\/3755\/files\/Screenshot-2026-09-16-103723.png?v=1789527649","url":"https:\/\/bookshop.cdu.edu.au\/products\/9780646742038","provider":"Charles Darwin University Bookshop","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
