NUR251 Medical Surgical Nursing 2

This unit is the second of two core theory units in the second year of the Bachelor of Nursing course that consolidates and extends the nursing knowledge related to assessment, care planning and specific interventions required for medical/surgical nursing practice. The unit will further develop student knowledge and understanding of altered health patterns and how they impact on the biophysical, functional and psycho social health and wellness of the patient. Students will be encouraged to critically analyse how social determinants of health affects patient responses to altered health states and their understanding and capacity to take responsibility for their own health care.
