MID221 - Midwifery Practice 4: Complex Labour, Birth, Postpartum and the Compromised Newborn

    
This is the fourth practical unit in a series of six clinical midwifery units. Students continue to learn midwifery practice skills to provide safe and competent midwifery care to women and infants. The focus of this unit is on skills related to midwifery care of the woman/fetus/newborn experiencing complexities during the labour, birth and/or the early postpartum period. To meet accreditation requirements students must demonstrate the capacity to establish, build, maintain and close continuity of midwifery care with women their Continuity of Midwifery Care Experiences (CoMCE). Students will also attend 40 hours of simulation block (hurdle) and complete 120 hours Professional Experience Placement (PEP) (hurdle) allocated by CDU as a part of this unit.
