Throughout this unit students will delve into the principles and practices of developing targeted exercise programs and safely instructing foundational exercises and movement skills to enhance physical fitness in diverse populations. Students will learn how to apply essential principles of training and periodisation to ensure comprehensive program design and progression. Throughout the unit, students will engage in hands-on activities, case studies, and in-person practical assessments to reinforce learning and skill development. By the end of the unit, students will be equipped with the foundational knowledge and skills to design and deliver exercise programs in a wide variety of health, physical performance and fitness roles that promote physical fitness and enhance the well-being of individuals across diverse populations. This unit will contribute to the knowledge and skills students require for accreditation as an Exercise Scientist with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA).
