PSY115 Psychological Skills

This unit imparts the skills that help individuals attain jobs and thrive in the workplace especially in workplaces that employ individuals who have completed some training in psychology. For example, students will develop:

  • Interpersonal skills that are relevant to most jobs, including written communication, persuasion, and leadership
  • Personal attributes that are germane to most jobs, including resilience, motivation, and receptivity to diverse communities
  • cognitive and technical capabilities that are relevant to most jobs, such as problem solving, creativity, learning, memory, and information technology
  • Skills that are more pertinent to jobs that are related to psychology, such as counselling and research

Students will be exposed to some of the latest, surprising discoveries on these topics. Furthermore, students will be exposed to the insights of successful managers and employees.
