Together, Australian Refrigeration and Air-conditioning, Volumes 1 and 2,have long been recognised as one of Australasia's foremostresources for training in the refrigeration and air-conditioning industry.

Now, the release of the completely revised fifth edition of Volume 1 has brought a new dimension to this highly regarded resource with a new full-colour format, hundreds of updated and upgraded images and improved text which make for easier reading and understanding.

WestOne has already begun a similar cover-to-cover revision and upgrading of Volume 2, with a view to releasing a fifth edition of that text early in 2015.

The latest edition of Volume 1 examines new trends, such as the industry's increased focus on efficiency and sustainability, while, at the same time, continuing to provide comprehensive coverage of industry basics in terms of principles and equipment. 

Topics covered range from basic refrigeration principles, compressors, condensers, evaporators and refrigerants to domestic, commercial and industrial systems, as well as tools, welding, electric motors and electrical principles, components and wiring.  

Areas of new focus include the growing interest in natural refrigerants and developments in supermarket refrigeration.
