This unit introduces students to foundational concepts and pedagogies in the field of Visual Arts teaching for Years 7-10. The unit equips students with the foundational skills to program a Visual Arts curriculum that facilitates students in Years 7-10 being able to: make and communicate through art; to develop interpretive skills; critically engage in the context of historical, theoretical and cultural aspects of Visual Arts as a body of knowledge; appreciate, interpret and critique art and design works from a range of local, regional and global cultural practices; and to understand relationships between art and design works, artists, audiences and users.
