ENG221 Analogue Electronics

This unit is designed to teach principles of semiconductor devices. It presents types of diodes, their models and applications in electronic circuits. In addition, it critically analyses the performance of different single-stage amplifiers constituted by Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistors (MOSFETs) and Bipolar Junction Transistors (BJTs). Students are required to complete a workshop practice component.

Students studying in external mode must attend residential activity at the Casuarina Campus during the mid-semester break. More information about residentials can be found at http://www.cdu.edu.au/engit/residentials.html

This unit is reliant on on-line materials including electronic submission of assessment items. Students must have access to a reliable high-speed broadband connection and a scanner.
