ENG432 Dynamics of Engineering Systems

The unit provides the knowledge and skills required to design systems with appropriate vibration properties. Topics covered include: introduction to vibration; response to harmonic excitation; general forced response; multiple degree of freedom systems; design for vibration suppression; distributed parameter systems; vibration testing and experimental modal analysis; finite element methods; the use of vibration engineering in condition monitoring.

This unit is reliant on on-line materials. Students must have access to a reliable high-speed broadband connection and a scanner.
