ENG476 Control Engineering

The unit provides in depth knowledge of classical control system analysis and design concepts: transient response, steady - state error analysis, stability analysis, frequency domain analysis, root - locus method, design and compensation techniques; state-variable modelling of systems; design of state variable feedback systems, controllability, observability, optimal control, pole placement using state feedback; implementation platforms for control tasks. The unit includes the critical evaluation of different design methods and integration of knowledge to practical applications.
