ENV519 Aquatic Resource Management

Aquatic ecosystems are amongst the most threatened globally. Effective management is necessary to protect and restore these vital ecosystems. This unit focuses on applying understanding of aquatic ecology to address key management issues in the context of current policy and management frameworks. The unit considers the perspectives of a wide range of stakeholders and critically evaluates natural resource management in aquatic ecosystems. The unit links theory with practice, with an emphasis on the management of aquatic ecosystems and associated resources (e.g. fisheries) in Australia.
