This unit further develops Greek language skills acquired in Greek Language 1, receiving a systematic introduction to the modern Greek language in order to gradually develop and improve communication and written skills. Students will review the fundamental aspects of Greek grammar, be introduced to the writing of simple passages and interact with peers for the improvement of communication, linguistic, conversational and compositional skills based on a variety of themes. Topics discussed will include selective historical and cultural perspectives of Greece, literature and society, Greek migration to Australia (particularly to the Northern Territory), Greek folk songs, contemporary cinema, Greek cuisine, and other culture related studies.

Students wishing to enrol in the in-country offering should refer to the Greek In-Country Language program for further information.
