LAW522 Public International Law

This unit offers a critical examination and analysis of the theories, sources, and core principles of public international law, customary international law, and their interaction with municipal law, including the usefulness of the principles, role, and operation of the major bodies in the international law context (e.g., the UN, the International Court of Justice, International Criminal Court, and other tribunals). This unit covers a range of topics, for example, the use of armed force in international and non-international conflict, international humanitarian law, and the economic and political approaches to the system of international law as a whole.
