The unit covers the issues and concepts associated with professional pharmacy activities and clinical pharmacy practice. Topics include: Professional pharmacy and pharmacy-related organisations, Occupational Health and Safety, business management, conflict management, life-long learning, consumer behaviour and drug promotion, pharmacoeconomics, medication errors, alternative medicines, drugs in sport, wound care, pharmaceutical care and health promotion, and legal/ethical aspects of pharmacy practice. Students will also prepare their Curriculum Vitae and complete an employment interview. The practical component covers prescription dispensing and patient counselling.
