This book introduces the new grower to practical growing information and a range of native and exotic tree-dwelling and ground-hugging species grouped according to their climatic needs. Within each group the orchids are arranged alphabetically to provide an easy reference for the enthusiast. Some 256 species, including 27 easy-to-grow species, are fully described in simple straightforward language.

A glossary is also included to explain unfamiliar terms.The growing requirements of each orchid is given and accompanied by a colour photograph.
