PSY505 Applied Methodology

In this unit the focus is on a variety of methodological approaches to research. Students will demonstrate a critical understanding of issues and develop argument based upon empirical research which will lead to the generation and testing of hypotheses. The range of designs and analytic techniques addressed will include single-case studies, program evaluation and experimental studies, using observational and qualitative techniques as well as advanced quantitative analyses. The importance of appropriate measurement will be covered as well as factors which influence or limit the application of findings.
