Are you fascinated by screen culture? Can you imagine a world without screens?

In this unit you will be introduced to the multifaceted world of screen culture, exploring the foundations and history of film and media, gaining insights into the impact of visual storytelling on our culture and society and debating the ways in which screen culture reflects and shapes our collective understanding.

Through immersion and analysis you will:

·      develop an understanding of screen media, encompassing film, television, and digital platforms

·      identify key genres and styles in screen culture, from classic Hollywood to contemporary digital content

·      discover diverse historical and contemporary storytelling approaches and techniques through cinematography, editing and sound design

·      explore the significance and cultural implications of screen-based storytelling and narrative, including its influence on values, identities and societal norms

·      examine the role of audiences in shaping and interpreting screen content and its cultural significance and impact.
