ECM302 - Secondary Science 2

This unit will develop the pedagogical content knowledge required for teaching senior secondary biology, chemistry, physics, earth and space sciences. Within this unit pre-service teachers will be supported in their learning of pedagogical approaches, strategies and resources that can support Year 11 and Year 12 students. Strategies for differentiating learning for diverse student cohorts will be explored with particular focus on supporting literacy and numeracy in the context of science. Pre-service teachers will be able to specialise in pedagogies, skills and processes for each science area, biology, physics, chemistry, and earth and space science, in recognition that while scientific thinking and processes can remain constant the pedagogy and practical experimentation required for each area is different.
