ECM333 - Secondary Humanities 1

This unit will develop preservice teachers' specialised knowledge for the professional practice of learning and teaching humanities in the junior years of secondary education. This will be achieved through critical reflection and synthesis of the Australian Curriculum: Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS), in the areas of history, geography and Indigenous knowledges. The unit equips preservice teachers with the indepth knowledge and skills to implement the Australian Curriculum across the three core humanities areas. Through critically reviewing multiple disciplinary approaches to teaching and learning, preservice teachers will be provided with the opportunity to apply diverse pedagogical practices to engage students. The unit will develop preservice teachers' skills to think critically and constructively.
