ECO308 Economics for Globalisation
This undergraduate unit investigates the motivational aspects of economic globalisation, its process and effects on trade and investment. The unit introduces contemporary debates on trade, labour and environmental issues. The institutional role of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT)/World Trade Organisation (WTO) and International Monetary Fund (IMF) in opening up the world economy will be examined. It considers how globalisation has affected economic growth in the Asia-Pacific region and its economic and business implications for Australia.
