ENG473 Communication Systems

The unit provides an understanding of the analysis, design, simulation and implementation of communication systems, with a particular emphasis on wireless communication systems.
This unit covers linear systems and lossless transmission, linear and exponential modulation techniques; baseband pulse transmission, digital modulations; multiplexing and digital transmission systems through noisy channels, modulation, error-correcting and detecting codes, source coding and line coding. The unit includes the critical evaluation of different design methods and integration of knowledge to practical applications.
